What You’ll Be Doing
As a PLA Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of projects from start to finish, driving the design process and ensuring top-quality results through thorough QA/QC reviews. You’ll work closely with Senior Design Leads and Engineering Managers on additional projects while keeping your own tasks on track and within budget. In this role, you’ll lead and mentor junior team members, guiding them to success. You'll also play a key part in business development by preparing proposals and supporting strategic and sales plans for your team. Once Selected To Join Our Team, You Will
- Independently manage projects from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery.
- Oversee multi-discipline projects, coordinating across teams for seamless execution.
- Manage additional project tasks as assigned by your manager or senior leadership.
- Lead the QA/QC process to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Ensure projects and tasks are completed on time and meet performance goals.
- Manage project financials, including budgeting and profitability.
- Engage with clients regularly to provide updates and address project-related needs.
- Prepare proposals with oversight from senior leadership.
- Supervise and mentor Discipline Lead I and junior staff, supporting their development and performance.
- Assist in executing the strategic and sales plan for your team.
- Handle other duties as assigned to support project and team success.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or discipline specific softwares
- Proficient in Dunaway CAD standards and specifically PLA CAD Standards
- Proficient in Dunaway design standards and specifically PLA design Standards
- Deep technical expertise in the relevant line of business.
- Strong ability to understand and meet project requirements effectively.
- Solid understanding of project financials and performance metrics.
- Skilled in preparing accurate contract fee estimates.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-discipline projects.
- Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong decision-making skills with sound judgment.
- Self-awareness to recognize personal limitations and seek support when needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities with a solution-focused mindset.
- Strong negotiation skills to drive successful outcomes.
- At least 7 or more years of landscape design experience, with at least 2 years of experience as an RLA
- At least 10 years of relevant landscape design experience without a degree
- At least 5 years of project management experience required experience including financial analysis
- At least 5 years of client interaction experience required
- 0-2 years of experience in a supervisor role
- 0-2 years of business development experience
- Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture or 10 years of relevant landscape design experience without a degree
