The Intern – Facilities performs general custodial, facilities, painting and outdoor groundskeeping/grounds maintenance as well as administrative functions for the facility operations team in a timely and organized manner. With responsibilities ranging from cleaning and maintaining hangers, shops and company grounds, the facility intern will perform a wide variety of tasks. Additionally, this position, with immediate supervision, handles non-hazardous materials regularly and assists with non-hazardous spills or clean-up.

Essential Job Functions
- With direct supervision, paints surfaces as required, cleans and sanitizes hangars, shops, lunchrooms and restrooms; this includes scrubbing floors, emptying trash and recycling bins, making coffee, using the appropriate equipment and cleaning chemicals with safe and approved procedures. Safely handles and removes non-hazardous materials and assists with cleaning up of non-hazardous spills, according to the approved SDS & Duncan Aviation procedures.
- Responds to facilities requests and assists with routine & emergency facility situations during their normal shift.
- With direct supervision, maintains company grounds to ensure cleanliness and safety (may include: picking up litter, snow removal using company equipment, ability to operate snow removal equipment safely adhering to Duncan Aviation procedures, applying de-icer, etc.).
- Performs other duties as assigned by facilities team leader and/or facilities management.
- Licenses/Certificates: Must have a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record
- Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required
- Physical: Repetitive motion; tolerates standing, walking, bending and sitting; routinely lifts up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with facility & custodial maintenance; tolerates working at heights above 4 feet; identifies colors
- Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Custodial or Groundskeeping experience preferred
