Media Planning Supervisor
What you’ll be doing
The role of a Media Planning Supervisor is to develop and implement media plans for our clients. The Planning Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day management of the communication planning process and ensures proper implementation of approved media plans based on the brand’s overall communications strategy.
Our team is mostly remote, but those who live in the San Francisco Bay Area do come in from time to time and we have a beautiful office in the Financial District. Must live in the Pacific Time Zone .
Strategy
- Works closely with the Group Media Planning Director, Strategy Director, Account and
Creative teams to coordinate strategy.
Is adept at pulling research and using it to inform recommendations.Develop agency POVs, providing a higher level of insight and analysis.Keep up to date on all available market and consumer information necessary to thepreparation of the most effective media plans for our clients.
Management
Provides excellent client service (responsive, accountable, proactive, etc).Establish and maintain effective relationships with outside vendors.Leader and expert on all assigned projects.Work with junior team members in researching and preparing plans.Develop, write and maintain final communications plans for various clients.Present plans to the Account teams and clients.Aid in leading conversations and managing client expectations.Supervise junior team members on respective account(s), provide feedback andevaluation.
Train, motivate, coach, grow and support junior team members.Measurement & Analysis
Lead planning team in analyzing data and campaign performance ensuring that alldecisions are data driven.
Strong ability to analyze data and generate meaningful and actionable insights thatimprove the performance and results of our campaigns.
Financial
Develops budget allocation across media, along with media mix recommendations.Negotiates with external vendors and publishers.Communicates and coordinates plan strategy and implementation with Account team,manage budgets, media reconciliations, invoice approvals.
Experience
Knowledgeable about and experienced with the concepts, approaches and issuesinvolved in media planning and execution.
Multi-channel media planning experience, including broadcast TV, Radio, CTV, etc.Familiarity with timeliness, processes and implementation across all types of media.Proven critical thinking and problem solving skills, along with strong analytical abilities.Detail-oriented with the ability to manage a lot of data and information in an organizedway. Strong attention to detail.
Technical proficiency, particularly with media systems and MS Excel, Google Suite,Google Analytics and Ad servers.
Strong client facing skills and experience (e.g. problem solving, cultivating rapport, etc).Experience leading and managing sizeable media plans.Resourceful attitude.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable with using research resources; such as Simmons, Comscore, Telmar, etc.Experience working beyond the demands of client work and contributing to agencydevelopment (e.g., new business, agency task forces, agency presentations, SME’s etc).
