GENERAL SUMMARY :

Duncan Family Farms is seeking a detailed and organized Local Truck Driver to pick-up and transport loads from the place of origin to assigned destination. The Local Truck Driver will be responsible to safely and efficiently drive a large commercial vehicle to deliver organic vegetables.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

The following are essential duties and responsibilities :

• Fully understands how to operate and safely drive the assigned delivery vehicle.
• Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
• Pull a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.
• Ensures trailer hitch is properly and securely attached to the tractor unit.
• Transports vegetables, from the place of origin to assigned destination.
• Ensures contents are properly secured to prevent damage.
• Safely and efficiently handles and unloads produce at selected destinations.
• Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries.
• Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the ticket.
• Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, etc.)
• Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
• Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations.
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather / road conditions.
• Make safety a priority at all times.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The Driver regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The Driver frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
