As a member of the All in One Maintenance Division, the Petroleum Service/Maintenance Technician performs service and preventive facility maintenance at service stations. Includes POS work, UST service, UST testing, and/or electric/mechanical on designated equipment systems, including working on underground and above ground units. Work will include: construction; repair and preventative maintenance on fueling systems; fuel dispensers; Point of Sale (POS) systems; fleet fuel systems; pumps; tank monitors; and fuel management systems. Industry specific equipment training a plus. Must be highly organized and self-motivated; problem-solving skills are key to developing in this industry specific role.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform petroleum equipment service and installation calls in a professional, timely, and quality manner.
- Operate powered construction equipment, such as backhoe, ditch witch, concrete saw, cordless drills, forklift, crane, pallet jack, backhoe, heavy equipment, etc.
- Knowledge and ability of operating a wide array of hand tools, including pipe wrenches, channel locks, drills, etc.
- Respond to on-site company- and customer-owned properties with service calls
- Complete all required paperwork for on-site service calls
- Be able to perform troubleshooting and minor repairs in all pump dispensers of convenience store and commercial locations
- Be able to troubleshoot and repair electronic tank monitors (e.g. Veeder-Root) as well as electronic POS (Point of Sale) terminals (e.g. VeriFone)
- Be able to troubleshoot and repair both electronic and mechanical components of dispensers (e.g. Gilbarco)
- Have the ability to troubleshoot (or learn) electrical wiring between both store and pump dispensers
- Assist in above- and underground storage tank system work, including repairs, testing, install/removal
- Operate a company-owned service vehicle safely and efficiently
- Maintain current certifications and equipment knowledge
- Juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Electrical/Mechanical background
- Must have Valid Driver’s License & be insurable
- Must be self-starter
- Basic computer/app knowledge necessary
- VASC Knowledgeable/Certified a plus
- Gilbarco/Wayne/Bennett/VeederRoot/INCON/Verifone/Red Jacket/PetroVend knowledge a plus
- POS/Networking knowledge a plus
- Forklift/Crane/Pallet Jack/Backhoe/Construction/Heavy Equipment Operation a plus
- Understand and respect safety sensitive function of position working with petroleum and flammable/combustible materials on a daily basis
Physical Requirements
- Walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, as required
- 25lbs on daily basis
- 75-100lbs occasionally
- May be required to be exposed to extreme weather conditions (snow, ice, heat, winds)
- Occasionally climb ladders; utilize bucket trucks; or otherwise exposed to heights
