The Construction Field Technology Sales position is responsible for selling technology solutions to the building construction market in BPSE’s Central Virginia and Chesapeake territories. These solutions consist of the BPSE Field Layout portfolio of Trimble Robotic Total Stations, 3D Laser Scanners, Field Layout Software, Robotics and Automation, as well as other advanced field technologies within Trimble’s Building Construction portfolio.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Client Engagement : Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and demonstrating how the technology can address those needs.
- Sales Presentations : Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase technology solutions, highlighting features, benefits, and value.
- Market Research : Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and market demands to tailor sales strategies effectively.
- Lead Generation : Through daily activity, identify and pursue new business opportunities via research, networking, referrals, jobsite visits, office visits, trade shows, technology seminars, and other events and activities as requested.
- Sales Strategy : Develop and implement sales plans to achieve targets, including pricing strategies and promotional activities. Understand competitive solutions and market dynamics in the territory and share this information with sales team and Management as it is known.
- Technical Knowledge : Understand the technical aspects of the products being sold to answer client questions and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Proposal Development : Prepare and present detailed proposals and quotations to clients, ensuring alignment with their requirements.
- Contract Negotiation : Negotiate terms and close deals, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Post-Sales Support : Provide ongoing support to clients after the sale, addressing any issues and ensuring customer satisfaction to encourage repeat business.
- Collaboration : Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align sales efforts with company objectives and customer needs.
- Reporting : Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, pipeline, and forecasts in CRM systems for management review.
- Training and Development : Continuously update knowledge of products and sales techniques through training and professional development opportunities.
- Culture : Be a team player first, always ensuring the customer and team is considered before self.
- Cross-selling : Support other Sales & Business Development Representatives and managers throughout the BPSE and Duncan-Parnell organizations to serve customers, enhance revenue growth, and expand market share in the Building Construction segment throughout all affiliated organizations.
- Other : Perform additional duties and tasks as requested by the Sales Manager.
