The Service Field Engineer is responsible for supporting Duncan-Parnell’s Wide Format division. Planning and coordinating activities related to equipment installations, investigating, and resolving customer reports of technical issues, and service to equipment are the primary roles. This position would primarily service our South Carolina customers and would ideally be located in Myrtle Beach, but other areas near Charleston SC would also be acceptable.

The Service Field Engineer is responsible for supporting Duncan-Parnell’s Wide Format division. Planning and coordinating activities related to equipment installations, investigating, and resolving customer reports of technical issues, and service to equipment are the primary roles. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Installation and training of new or refurbished wide format printing equipment at customer’s office to ensure full functionality and customer understanding of equipment operations.
- Ability to lift, push or pull fifty pounds
- Requires bending, kneeling and squatting to perform maintenance tasks
- Operation of a motor vehicle throughout the day as customer visits require.
- Analyze printing equipment to determine source of problem, recommend repair or other corrective action.
- Provide preventative maintenance of machines, keeping schedules as prescribed by manufacturer.
- Manage inventory control of parts for machines.
- Receive calls from dispatch and follow written dispatch procedures.
- Interact with customer prior to on-site visit to verify potential problem and ensure correct parts are taken to repair equipment.
- Maintain positive customer relationships.
- Attend manufacturer’s training classes and share knowledge with service team.
- Able to configure printing equipment defaults and settings to customer requirements.
- Working Knowledge of Windows Network environment including file and folder sharing and access permissions
- Working Knowledge of Windows Workstation including adding local and shared printers and installing, updating and removing applications.
- Working Knowledge of MAC OS including adding local and shared printers and installing, updating and removing applications.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking including DHCP and IP reservation
- Working knowledge of DNS and NETBIOS name resolution
- Able to do start to finish end user training on printing equipment operation and applications and drivers
- Able to operate remote support tools to connect to clients and resolve issues.
- Able to operate 16' box truck for delivery of equipment
Requirements
- 2 or more solid employment references from relevant sources
- Excellent communication both written and verbal
- Customer service focused
- Mechanical ability to perform repairs
- PC operation, DOS Command Line, PC troubleshooting and repair, Microsoft Office
- Experience with digital circuitry
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
