Description
The position is responsible for providing patients with transportation to and from group counseling (mental health therapy) services. Candidate will transport the patient to/from their residence to the IOP, assist with physical aspects of care including walking, serving lunch and basic hygiene.
RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Safely transport patients from their residence to the IOP (and back)
- Perform daily maintenance inspection and complete service log prior to departure each day
- Identify needs for vehicle service and repair and notify team lead or manager
- Accurately complete and sign transportation log daily.
- Utilize 4-point wheelchair restraints and seatbelts to safely secure all patients
- Assist with patient toileting and encourage appropriate hand hygiene
- Assist with serving patient lunch and snack break
- Orient and train new team members on departmental policies and procedures
- Implement DRH standards of behavior and exhibit behavior consistent with DRH core values.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Manager/Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Ability to safely operate a large motor vehicle. Ability to effectively communicate with team members and patients. Ability to follow applicable regulations, policies and/or procedures. Ability to work independently and remain flexible to quickly adapt to urgent situations. Basic computer skills
FOR THOSE REQUIRING RESPIRATOR/FIT TESTING: This position requires respirator and fit testing. Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma, GED or work related experience.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Current driver’s license in the state of Oklahoma. CDL preferred but not required. CNA preferred but not required.
