Position: Clinical Dietitian
Location: Reedsport, Bandon, Coquille, Myrtle Point, North Bend (30-minute commute to the hospital)
Hourly Range: $29.00 - $39.00
Position Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian will provide clinical nutrition support, care, and information to both patients and staff at the hospital. This role requires a combination of clinical expertise and excellent communication skills to ensure the best possible patient care in a dynamic, healthcare setting.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in using basic office equipment such as calculators, computers, PowerPoint, telephones, copiers, and fax machines.
- Ability to read, write legibly, and converse effectively in English.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the assigned job location.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.
- Ability to react quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.
- Adequate hearing and visual acuity, including color vision, to assess patients and provide nutrition services.
- Fine motor skills, good eye-hand coordination, and the ability to grasp and handle objects.
- Ability to assist patients with mobility, transferring in and out of bed, chair, or wheelchair using proper body mechanics.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Use of standard precautions due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
- Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking, either in person or on the phone.
- May require the periodic use of a personal computer for documentation and communication.
Education/Certifications/Licenses/Degrees:
- Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university (Required).
- Completion of an approved coordinated undergraduate program, dietetic internship, or a master's program with qualifying work experience (Required).
- Registered Dietitian or eligible for registration (Must obtain registration within 1 year) (Required).
- Licensed as a Dietitian in the State of Oregon (Required).
- Current Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days (Required).
- Must obtain Oregon Food Handler, Food Manager Certification, or ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire (Required).
- Membership with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Preferred).
- Certified Diabetic Educator (Required).
- Certified Oncology Nutrition Specialist (Required).
- Certified Nutrition Support Specialist (Required).
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of experience in clinical or community nutrition (Required).
State License Requirements:
- Oregon State License (Required).
Shift Notes:
- 80 hours per pay period.
- Four (4) 10-hour shifts.
