Hourly Range: $20.00 - $26.00 (based on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Urgent Care team. This role involves managing patient flow throughout the clinic while assisting providers with patient care. Our diverse patient population ranges across all age groups, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, requiring individualized care.

As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for performing both clinical and clerical tasks within the scope of practice outlined by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Working collaboratively with the Supervising Nurse, Supervising Provider, Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and providers, you will play an integral part in meeting the care needs of our patients and the goals of the clinic. Clear communication with the healthcare team is key to ensure the best patient care and service.

Clinical Care Responsibilities:

• Manage patient flow and assist with rooming patients, administering immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by the provider.
• Perform laboratory specimen collection as needed.
• Depending on clinic needs, you may also provide telephone support, assist with prescription refills, facilitate communication between patients and providers, perform x-ray duties (if certified), phlebotomy, and clinic laboratory tests.

Clinic Support:

• Assist with front desk/check-in support, including ordering and stocking supplies.
• Provide support for prior authorizations and other administrative tasks as required.

General Responsibilities:

• Maintain proficiency in all skills outlined in the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• Regularly upgrade and improve skills as necessary, including completion of competency evaluations for additional skills as defined by the clinic.
• Collaborate with the Physician, Provider, Registered Nurse, Clinic Supervisor, and Clinic Manager in delivering high-quality patient care.
• Be adaptable and accept additional duties as needed to achieve organizational goals.

Compliance:

• Adhere to corporate principles and standards outlined in the Corporate Code of Conduct.
• Maintain patient and team member privacy, only accessing relevant information to perform job duties.
• Report any violations or concerns to the supervisor or Corporate Compliance Officer using established communication methods.
• Follow legal, regulatory, and procedural requirements in all aspects of your role.
