To provide efficient, reliable, and customer-focused support across all campuses and departments. The Network Engineer designs, administers, maintains, and upgrades core network systems—firewalls, content filters, security access control, phone systems, and more. Responsibilities include ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of enterprise-level systems with minimal downtime.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree or 5 years of advanced experience in technology network infrastructure
- Cisco CCNA and CCNP preferred
- Other certifications such as Cisco CCNP R&S, CCNP Voice, VMWare preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Deep expertise in Cisco Nexus, ASA, Sourcefire, Fortigate firewalls
- Proficient in Cisco routers, switches, wireless networks, and controllers
- Experience with Cisco Call Manager, Unified Communications System, and Access Control Systems
- Familiarity with Linux, Macintosh OS, F5 Application Delivery Controllers, VMWare
- Knowledge of Cisco ISE, 802.1x, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VoIP, and network security protocols
- Strong communication, teamwork, and troubleshooting abilities
Experience:
- 5 years in technology network infrastructure preferred
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot infrastructure hardware
- Administer firewalls, VLANs, DNS, and IDS/IPS systems
- Manage internet content filtering (CIPA compliance)
- Maintain Linux servers, patches, and OS upgrades
- Research and recommend network hardware/software purchases
- Solve user issues and train system users
- Maintain and secure network systems from threats
- Ensure disaster recovery documentation is up-to-date
- Monitor and improve network speed, security, and reliability
- Support cross-functional projects and train staff on new technologies
- Provide excellent internal customer service
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and positive communication
- Collaborate with colleagues and leadership
- Complete tasks by established deadlines
- Follow district ethics and confidentiality standards
