Lead, Build, and Make Things Happen at Duncraft!

At Duncraft, we’ve been creating backyard bird feeding products — and helping people connect with nature — since 1952. We’re known for our craftsmanship, our care, and the extra attention we put into every product we design and every order we ship. But let’s be honest — none of it happens without great people keeping the wheels turning behind the scenes.

We’re a family-owned company, proudly independent, and passionate about helping customers (and their birds) have the best backyard experience possible.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a hands-on, solutions-minded Operations Manager who gets excited about making things better — and isn’t afraid to shake things up when it’s time for change. Someone who loves turning daily chaos into calm, lifting up their team, and finding smarter, faster ways to get things done.

You’ll play a key role in leading the charge, improving processes, keeping the building humming, and making sure everything — from production to shipping — runs smoother every day.

If you thrive on solving problems, keeping things moving like clockwork, and leading with respect — you might be exactly who we’re looking for.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations Leadership:
Be the steady hand keeping fulfillment, shipping, inventory, and manufacturing on track.

  • Provide direct leadership to our Manufacturing and Shipping Supervisors — supporting them as they guide their teams.
  • Set clear expectations, communicate priorities each morning, and keep the team focused, energized, and motivated.

Team Empowerment & Development:
Lead by example, empower your team, and create a positive, collaborative environment.

  • Coach and develop your team, offering real-time feedback and support.
  • Identify skill gaps and lead training efforts—so everyone has the tools to succeed.

Inventory & Vendor Management:
Stay ahead of inventory, negotiate like a pro, and keep operations flowing.

  • Monitor stock levels and forecast needs so the team always has what they need to keep things moving.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and negotiate the best deals.

Process Improvement & Problem Solving:
Be the one thinking three steps ahead — tackling challenges, improving systems, and finding smarter ways to work every day.

  • Constantly look for ways to streamline, improve, and innovate.
  • Handle the occasional hiccup — whether it’s a machine, tool, or workflow glitch — and get us back on track.
  • Own your area. If you see a better way, let’s hear it!

Facility Oversight:
Own the space — from maintenance to safety — ensuring a top-notch work environment.

  • Ensure safety and compliance, because our team deserves the best environment to work in.
  • Set the tone for keeping the building clean, organized, and running smoothly — because a well-cared-for space keeps the team (and the work) flowing.

Cost Control & Quality Assurance:
Protect the bottom line while delivering quality our customers count on.

  • Champion quality at every step and course-correct when needed.

Reporting & Collaboration:
Share insights, prep reports, and keep communication flowing across teams.

  • Collaborate with other departments to solve problems and keep projects moving.

About You:

  • Dependable, proactive, and always thinking about what’s next.
  • You lead with respect—earning your team’s trust and motivating them to do their best.
  • You’re comfortable in the weeds and stepping back to see the big picture.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven (but flexible enough to pivot when needed).
  • You love problem-solving and taking ownership of outcomes.
  • You know your way around inventory systems, manufacturing processes, and vendor negotiations.
  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty, or do the heavy lifting when needed.
  • Bonus: You’re curious, love learning new things, and know how to keep the energy positive — even on those crazy busy days.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain—or equivalent real-world experience that’s taught you how to get things done.
  • Solid experience leading operations, supply chain, or production — ideally in manufacturing or distribution. You know how to keep the big picture moving while managing the daily details.
  • Proven track record of building and leading teams, overseeing projects, and driving process improvements from start to finish.
  • Experience with process improvement tools like Lean or Six Sigma (or just great at spotting a better way). We’re ready to build smarter systems together.
  • Numbers, spreadsheets, and systems don’t scare you — you’re comfortable tracking inventory, managing vendors, and spotting ways to improve.
  • Financially savvy — you understand budgeting, cost control, and forecasting.
  • Great communicator — able to collaborate across departments and keep everyone on the same page.
  • Skilled at juggling the big picture with the daily details — and staying cool when things get busy.
  • Ready to pitch in wherever needed, with a hands-on mindset.

What Duncraft Offers:

At Duncraft, we’re more than a company — we’re a trusted brand with a 70 year legacy in wild bird feeding and backyard nature products. But legacy doesn’t mean stuck in the past — we’re growing, evolving, and ready for fresh ideas.

We’re looking for someone who’s excited to take the reins and help us build smarter systems, streamline operations, and set the stage for what’s next. This is your chance to leave your mark and shape how we work — not just maintain what’s already here.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • A hands-on role with real ownership — bring your ideas, test new systems, and help us get better every day.
  • A collaborative leadership team that values your voice — we’re ready to roll up our sleeves alongside you.
  • The chance to modernize how we work — no red tape, no hoops to jump through, just the freedom to make things better.

Benefits & Perks:

  • Competitive pay — because we know great work deserves great compensation
  • 401(k) with company match — we’re invested in your future (literally)
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance — keeping you covered, head to toe
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) — for those “just in case” moments
  • Short-term disability and life insurance — because life happens
  • Paid time off and paid holidays — everyone needs time to recharge
  • Employee discount — your backyard birds will thank you
  • Family-owned and proudly independent — 70 years of doing what we love
  • Your voice matters here — help shape how we grow and get better every day
  • Supportive, hands-on team — we work hard, we laugh harder
