Are you a strong leader with a passion for working with middle school students? Do you enjoy planning engaging activities while ensuring safety and structure? The Dundee Township Park District is looking for a Middle School Recreation Site Coordinator to supervise staff, coordinate activities, and create memorable experiences for participants!
What You’ll Do
As a Middle School Recreation Site Coordinator, you’ll:
- Develop a weekly plan based on a theme, presenting options for activities and events, and involving students in choosing and organizing them.
- Ensure all safety guidelines are followed and that students are appropriately supervised during activities.
- Adapt activities for students in grades 6-8, balancing fun, learning, and structured routines.
- Manage logistics for field trips, including transportation, safety, and coordination with other staff or partners.
- Help middle schoolers explore new activities, develop independence, and get familiar with the DTPD community.
- Drive the van for trips to various DTPD facilities and off-site field trips.
- Support DTPD’s Mission Statement by providing excellent service to the community.
- Perform additional duties as prescribed by management.
Who You Are
You’re a dedicated and enthusiastic leader with:
- Experience working with middle school-aged children.
- A valid driver’s license (must be 21 or older).
- Strong leadership skills to supervise the Middle School Recreation Counselor.
- Strong communication skills to engage with participants, parents, and staff.
- A commitment to safety and risk management.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Spanish-speaking ability (preferred).
Schedule
- Regular hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.
- Some evenings, weekends, or extended hours may be required as needed.
