Zoo Guest Services Supervisor

The Dundee Township Park District is seeking a Zoo Guest Services Supervisor to lead our customer service programs and enhance the overall guest experience at Randall Oaks Zoo. As a key part of our team, youll help manage guest services, staff, and volunteers while ensuring smooth operations across the Zoo and Park.

What Youll Do:

• Lead and supervise guest services teams, including part-time staff, volunteers, and interns.
• Ensure a positive guest experience across the zoo and park, including custodial services, safety protocols, and maintenance.
• Provide high-level customer service and manage guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback efficiently.
• Manage financial transactions, including cash handling and operating the gift shop and concession inventory.
• Oversee the training, scheduling, and performance of staff and volunteers in animal care and docent programs.
• Coordinate special events and activities within the zoo and park.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and inspections of operations and guest services.
• Implement the Zoos safety and risk management policies, ensuring a safe environment for staff and guests.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of park rentals, hayrides, and other activities.
• Ensure that the zoo and public areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and attractive manner.
• Support the mission and goals of the Dundee Township Park District and Randall Oaks Zoo.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by management and assist other team members as needed.

What You Bring:

• Experience: 5 years of supervisory experience in hospitality, customer service, or a related field. Zoo experience is preferred.
• Education: Bachelors degree in a related field such as Business, Hospitality, or Education is preferred.
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead a team effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn new systems.
  • Ability to engage and communicate with a diverse range of guests, staff, and volunteers.
  • Ability to speak and understand Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong customer service mindset and commitment to enhancing the guest experience.
