What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Director position at Duneland Family YMCA?
This is a unique opportunity to start a career with the Duneland Family YMCA! Working under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer this person will oversee the Forchetti Family YMCA Center for Early Learning, and the YMCA Half Day Preschool program located in the Trojan Learning Center. Develop, support, and provide guidance to program teaching staff, supervise daily operations related to the program, and ensure the program achieves high quality performance outcomes. Ensure the program maintains a level 4 Paths to QUALITY rating and National Accreditation.
Some of the key responsibilities for this position will include:
- Ensure the safety of all children; maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Create and deliver age-appropriate curriculum.
- Responsible for the general planning, operation, and supervision of a developmentally appropriate early learning curriculum. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in the program.
- Monitors daily operations, assures compliance with all state, federal, local and YMCA health and safety regulations and conducts and ensures proper maintenance of equipment.
- Recruits and hires a diverse teaching staff team. Onboards and develops team members for success. Ensures ongoing evaluation, training, and development of teaching staff.
- Models’ relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with state regulatory agencies, families, school administration, advisory board, and community partners. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Develops, manages, and controls budgets related to the Center. Ensures the Center operates within budget. Supports and budgets for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality.
- Creates a safe environment in which all participants feel welcomed and respected.
- Follow CACFP and State guidelines according to health, safety, required postings, and administration of program.
- Monitor the daily operation of the CACFP Program, including, but not limited to point of service, meal service sanitation, etc.
- Monitor KPIs to assess performance and identify improvements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
