What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Improvement Specialist position at Dungarvin Supported Living?

POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to work as part of the Quality Assurance team to verify the quality of the services provided and compliance with internal policies and state/federal regulations in programs across the Embassy Management Group of Companies, including Supported Living/Residential Habilitation services, Developmental Disability Agency (DDA) services, developmental and behavioral services, ICF/ID services, and employment services. Assist with strategic planning, policy/systems/forms maintenance and development, and program assessments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Include the following & other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and at least 1 year experience delivering training in a classroom, one on one or a combination of both is required.
  • At minimum an Associate's degree in special education, social work, psychology, or related field is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of content development, instructional system design, adult learning and experiential learning strongly preferred.

  • Must have acceptable criminal background check and possess a good driving record. Must show proof of current driver's license and insurance.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass drug-screening test upon offer and continue to comply with drug free workplace policies.
  • Must have a strong commitment to the on--going improvement of services for individuals with disabilities.
  • Must have knowledge of adult training techniques and quality assurance processes.
  • Must have software and computer proficiency: Must have knowledge and ability to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to travel to various program locations and work various hours.

Operational

  • Ability to travel including some overnight stays.
  • Monitor the quality of the services provided to individuals through ongoing home/center/office visits (as relevant for the service).
  • Complete comprehensive case file reviews (as relevant for the service).
  • Participate in the strategic planning process. Develop objectives for quality assurance on an annual basis.
  • Complete program reviews to all programs across the Embassy Management group to ensure compliance with applicable state/federal regulations and contract/ guidelines are met.
  • Provide a thorough report of findings from each review. Ensure plans of correction are implemented in response to findings.
  • Provide training to staff both in formal and informal training moments as needed
  • Develop and maintain positive relationship with co-workers, teams and operational teams for each program.

Growth & Development

  • Develop and maintain partnerships and effective ongoing communication with contracting entities staff in order to promote quality services and customer satisfaction.
  • Complete Basic Orientation and attend other in-service training as recommended.
  • Set and achieve performance and development goals as scheduled through the Performance Review and Plan (PRP) process.
  • Complete and remain current in First Aid, CPR, Therapeutic Options, Infection Control and Bloodborne Pathogens Training.

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb/balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.46 per hour
