Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating the production of quality ready mix concrete in the most safe, efficient and cost effective manner possible according to established company specifications
Essential Job Duties/Functions
- Coordinates the opening and closing of plant facilities according to established company procedures and guidelines.
- Monitors raw materials to ensure availability to meet anticipated demands to include filling bins with front end loader as appropriate.
- Performs required tests on materials to ensure compliance with stated specifications.
- Operates batch console to make ready mix concrete according to customer and company specifications.
- Ensures the efficient and safe use of personnel to complete all required tasks.
- Informs dispatch on a timely basis of any plant activity, issues or concerns that might impact customer service.
- Communicates with support departments (fleet/plant maintenance, technical services, human resources, etc…) on a timely basis to identify and resolve questions and/or issues.
- Ensures company compliance with all company, local, state and federal environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
- May assist dispatch manager with supervising plant production employees to include administering all applicable company policies and procedures.
- Assists dispatch manager with managing employee work hours in the most cost effective manner.
- Operates equipment on the plant site as needed.
- Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs to plant equipment as needed.
- Assists dispatch manager with administrative reporting to include cash sales report, delivery tickets, raw material receipts and other reports as needed/requested.
- Assists with the training of all production new hires at the site.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience (Required = R; Preferred = P)
- HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum age of 21 years old required.
- Experience in concrete production preferred.
- Current, valid state driver’s license required.
- Satisfactory driving and criminal record required.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills (oral and written).
- Demonstrated proficiency with simple math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (especially percentages) as well as measurements.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to speak, understand, read and write English.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
