Job Description Summary
Performs a wide range of duties within the plant including but not limited to:
Material Handling Duties
-- Unloading the barges that deliver aggregate.
- Loading trucks, operating the button building.
- Moving the barge, operating the winch.
- Extracting aggregate from barge, operating the Sennebogen material handler.
- Pushing-up the barge, operating the small front-end loader.
- Stock piling, operating the large front-end loader.
-- Loading aggregate into trucks for delivery.
- Operating the large front-end loader.
- Loading material into dump trucks.
- Yard maintenance.
- Stockpile Maintenance.
-- Material Moving.
- Operating the large front-end loader.
- Loading material into dump trucks.
- Stockpile Maintenance.
-- Unloading the ships that deliver aggregate.
- Positioning the breast barges.
- Mooring the breast barges.
- Raising and lowering the gangway.
- Monitoring the discharge of the aggregate.
- Monitoring and maintaining the operation of the hoppers and conveyors on the water side and shore side ship unloading system.
- Communication with the ship.
- Assisting with the loading of stores.
-- Read Mix loader operations.
- Feeding needed material into Ready Mix plant.
- Provide above to DP’s 3 outlying locations when needed.
-- Equipment Maintenance.
- Regular pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
- Regular maintenance/services.
- Minor repairs.
Qualifications (Education/Experience) and Required Skills
· No experience is necessary
· Physical examination required
· Ability to communicate effectively with team members
· Knowledge of basic tools and their uses
· Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure
· Good attendance and positive attitude a must

The individual must be able to perform all of these actions while being exposed to inclement weather as this position works outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, which required employee to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/ or humid conditions as well. Employee will utilize proper PPE as instructed by supervisor, such as such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, reflective vests and steel toe boots. Additional PPE may be required.
