Senior Integration Engineer

A Senior Integration Engineer must have experience in the creation of strategies and plans for integration of multiple IT systems/subsystems into an operational unit, ensuring full functional and performance capabilities are retained. The integration engineer must be experienced in introducing new hardware or software into a new or existing environment while minimizing disruption and mitigating risks.
IT Concepts, Inc. (ITC) is seeking an experienced Senior Integration Engineer to support our VA-ESOM-End Point Support and Operations Monitoring contract. The Sr. Integration Engineer must have experience managing Information Technology related projects. Must be well versed in SDLC life cycle of integrations supporting the business capabilities that provide core operational functionality. Analyze business requirements and ensure that implemented integrations (services and workflows) are effectively integrated into current technology ecosystem. Ensure that the technology solutions delivered are aligned to enterprise strategies and adhere to VA's target architecture by applying sound architectural principles & best practices and following governance processes and guidelines.
Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.
Position Duration: This position is expected to last 10 months.
Job Description:
- Experience with Hardware Asset Management (HAM) - Software Asset Management (SAM) within ServiceNow HAM/SAM Pro modules.
- Responsible for planning, designing, and implementing complex functional and technical services and system level designs.
- Responsible for supporting and maintaining Integration platform and integrated components on test and production environments.

Architecture Design:
Creating high-level integration architectures, defining data mapping strategies, and selecting appropriate integration technologies based on project needs.
Requirements Analysis:
Collaborating with agency and contract stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and identify integration points between different systems.
Integration Development:
Implementing integrations using APIs, message queues, data mapping tools, and other integration technologies to connect disparate systems and facilitate data exchange.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
Designing and executing comprehensive integration tests to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance of implemented integrations.
Technical Leadership:
Mentoring junior integration engineers, providing technical guidance, and resolving complex integration issues
Performance Optimization:
Monitoring integration performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimizations to maintain system responsiveness
Change Management:
Managing changes to existing integrations, coordinating updates with relevant teams, and ensuring smooth transition during deployment
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Creating detailed documentation for integration design, implementation, and maintenance, as well as sharing knowledge with the team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or equivalent (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
- 10 years of experience with application, data and/or systems integration
- 5 years of experience with ServiceNow Integration (IT Service Management/IT Asset Management / HAM / SAM highly desirable), with demonstrated success as an SME and / or in a senior-level position.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns and best practices
- Proficiency in integration standards and protocols, APIs, programming languages relevant to integration development (e.g. C#, Python, Java, C , JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, SQL, Kotlin, TypeScript, Rust, or Scala)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Aptitude to address sensitive situations and positively resolve
