What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper / Porter position at Dunlap & Magee Property Management, Inc.?

Description

The Groundskeeper assists with the general maintenance of the apartment community and shares responsibility for its appearance and safety. The Groundskeeper performs groundskeeping activities and works toward the timely resolution of general upkeep or cleaning requests.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions :

Performs daily pickup of property grounds, parking lot, sidewalks, dumpsters, etc. May include pool cleaning and maintenance.
Assists property staff in noticing general maintenance problems or safety concerns.
Assists maintenance staff in keeping pool area (including furniture) and storage areas clean and

orderly. Maintains company tools and equipment in proper working condition.

May prepare surfaces to be painted and do interior and exterior painting duties as directed by

supervisor.

At supervisor's direction, runs errands to purchase or pick up repair or replacement parts.

May perform light landscaping duties (pulling weeds, removing dead plants, raking, etc.)

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to work inside and outside in all types of weather.

Medium to heavy work requiring repeated or prolonged standing, walking, climbing, stooping,

kneeling and crouching. Lifting up to 100 pounds. Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds.

Ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs.

Good eye-hand coordination with the ability to perform repetitive / continuous tasks according to set

procedures and sequence.

May from time to time become exposed to atmospheric conditions that could include fumes, odors,

dusts, gases, poor ventilation or other conditions affecting the respiratory system or the skin.

Possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.

Equipment and Tools Used :

Such common cleaning and yard maintenance tools as brooms, rakes, scrapers, knives, etc.

May use such power tools as blowers, trimmers or sprayers.
