Dunloggin Veterinary Hospital has been serving Howard and the surrounding counties for almost 50 years. We are a 4 doctor independent, small animal practice looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, self-motivated, dependable individual who is looking to help our team offer the best patient care to beloved pets. Also understands the importance of each client and patient to our business and treats both with the highest level of care, competence, warmth and professionalism. Previous experience with routine examination procedures, in house Idexx laboratory equipment, outpatient and inpatient care, assisting doctors and client education preferred. Applicants must have a strong work ethic, preserve a positive personality, capable of communicating effectively, be able to multitask efficiently in a fast paced environment, have the ability to work in harmony with a team, possess a well-rounded technical skill set, and have a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients as well as clients. Responsibilities: Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms. Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms and labs. Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement. Obtain laboratory sample collection, process fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology and urinalysis. Perform diagnostic digital imaging. Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical and injectable). Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients. Communicate with and educate clients. Provide compassionate patient care. Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts. We have both full and part time positions available. Previous experience is preferred, but not required. Hospital hours are 8am-7pm on Monday thru Thursday, 8:00a-6:00p on Friday and 8am-1pm two Saturdays a month. Salary dependent on experience
