EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Serves as survey crew member for construction surveying, staking and plan preparation for future maintenance and construction projects. Collection of topographic survey data to be implemented in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or GIS mapping software. Completes necessary GIS mapping of roadway inventory: signs, pavement data, maintenance history, and drainage structure inventory, etc. Operates CAD drafting software and assists in civil design projects. Assists in road project design and plan preparation in CAD software including: drafting base files from topographic survey data, creation of surfaces, alignments, profiles, cross sections, etc. Prepares project plans and specifications including: plan and profiles, traffic control, drainage, signing, standard details, typical sections, and cross sections.Prepares and assists in construction and maintenance cost estimates for County, State and Local Municipal projects. Assists with construction projects and maintenance work on site: provides information, staking, and observation for construction staff and residents on the project. Assists in future development and planning of County, State & Local Municipal projects.Review and inspect driveway and utility permits as needed in the field and complete the necessary paperwork & payment to complete the permitting process.Completes necessary inspections of drainage structures, bridges, driveway & utility compliance, Eau Galle Dam visual inspections and construction & maintenance projects.Installs traffic counters and prepares Average Daily Traffic and Vehicle Classification reports. Completes and updates the necessary mapping to include historical data. Assists in completing construction and maintenance reports to track quantities, labor and equipment costs, and to provide historical data for future planning of projects. Completes pavement surface evaluation and rating reports (PASER). Assists in Local Road Improvement Projects (LRIP). Assists in maintains bridge & drainage structure inventory, plan of action and scour analysis reports.Oversees project construction to comply with standard procedures and safety compliance.Assists in completing inventory and research of construction supplies and the necessary task of ordering supplies as needed. Attends County, Town, WisDOT, and committee meetings and trainings, as necessary. Performs all other related job duties, as needed.
