GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:


Responsible for leading, teaching, developing, motivating, and directing Store Managers and their teams in a manner that maximizes sales and profit. Demonstrates leadership through working with Store Managers to ensure that all staffing requirements are met, company training programs are executed for all store associates and a positive work environment is created for all personnel maximizing associate engagement and productivity. The Area Manager is responsible for ensuring that all company programs are implemented, executed consistently and maintained, while demonstrating a desire to continuously improve current business practices.


ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure Dunn-Edwards stores maximize sales and profitability for the company and accountable for meeting and directing action to ensure appropriate expense allocations.
  • Provides support and instruction for Store Management through regular store visits; develop and provide strategic direction for improvement. This would include but not be limited to procedural updates, store appearance, merchandising, and regulatory standards.
  • Responsible for leading, teaching, developing, motivating and directing Store Managers and their teams in a manner that results in excellent daily store conditions, a positive work environment and excellent customer service leading to excellent sales and profitability.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and communication.
  • Responsible to ensure there is open dialogue between store manager and all internal and external (field) employees creating a positive work environment and avoiding outside intervention.
  • Empowers employees and develops their skills to achieve professional goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring the execution and implementation of company Human Resources processes.
  • Ability to drive own vehicle to all business units within assigned territory.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position directly manages Store Managers within the region and the associates in those stores. The amount of direct reports and employees varies based on the stores assigned within the region.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum 5 years relatable experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:


Must possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to read, create and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, analytical reports and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:


Ability to create and manage a budget, manage and account for both shrink and swell in inventory, calculate figures in the practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and practical algebra.
