Overview
At Dunn-Harris Healthcare Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and demonstrate proficiency in various nursing practices. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and providing high-quality nursing care within our patients homes. Our patients include Medically Fragile Children; Medically Complex Children, Children and Adults with Developmental and Behavior Disabilities as well as caring for our senior community.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their health needs and develop individualized care plans in partnership with the family and Primary Care Physician. Regularly assess clients needs.
- Observe and report symptoms, reactions to treatments, drugs, and changes in the patient's physical or emotional condition.
- Initiate preventative procedures as appropriate for the patient's care and safety and effect changes in the environment to ensure patient safety and security.
- Maintain clinical and progress notes for each patient receiving care and provide progress reports to their physician.
- Coordinate other care services for clients.
- Manage timesheets for PCA/CNA's.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide care for patients with infectious diseases and assist in sterile processing procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in in-service programs, training, and teaching other personnel.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities by providing tailored nursing interventions.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid and current RN license in the state of Georgia.
- CPR certified
- Proficiency with Durable Medical Equipment (DME): G-Tube; Ventilators; Oxygen, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), etc.
- Proficient in managing medical records efficiently.
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Compassionate approach towards patient care, especially for those with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
