Job Description
About the Position:
A successful Yard Worker at Dunn Lumber is expected to learn and grow their ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities needed to uphold a safe, clean, accurate, and hospitable environment as material flows in and out of our yards.You will be a part of a highly skilled team that will utilize saws and forklifts to cut and move material, unload and check in material from vendor trucks, load walk-in customer vehicles, and build lumber packages for transfer to other Dunn Lumber locations or delivery to customer jobsites.A fully trained Yard Worker is capable of upholding The Legacy of Trust daily through; trusted advice, quality materials, and excellent service. This happens with the completion of all expected operational tasks, maintaining a clean and organized yard, and building trust with customers and co-workers by understanding their needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Store Hours are Monday - Friday from 6:55am - 6:05pm and Saturday from 7:55am - 5:05pm.
The current available schedule(s) are:
(M T F 6:40am - 6:05pm & S 7:40am - 5:05pm)

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic competency with computers and math. This includes the ability to enter login credential information, punch in and out for work, operate a barcode scanner, and understand fractions - as it pertains to reading a tape measurer.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to very heavy work. Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, and required to climb ladders, sit, stoop, kneel, squat, or crouch on occasion. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear moving vehicles and forklifts frequently.

This job constantly operates in outdoor weather and in warehouse conditions with occasional entry to and from the retail stores. This environment includes forklifts, tractor-trailers, and customer vehicle traffic. The noise level is moderate to high.
This is an entry-level position with apaidtwo-week trainingperiod and continued learning while employed. The two-week training is completedon-site with your supervisor or at a *Training Yardwith the Training Department. The training for this position will focus onproduct knowledge, Point of Sale software, and yard operations.

- Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices.
- Conduct yourself every day in a manner consistent with Dunn Lumber’s core values.
- Keep the yard in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our customers.
- Maintain knowledge of outside product codes for quick identification.
- Safely load customers with materials in an efficient and courteous fashion.
- Actively and accurately participate in building, shipping, receiving, loading, and culling.
- Load and receive both vendor and customer vehicles with a forklift.
- Safely move material on and off the cantilever and sheet goods racking.
- Put away material in a neat, presentable fashion and adjust for lost or damaged material.
- Use saws to cut sheet goods and dimensional products.
- Protect materials from inclement weather and cull materials to maintain quality stock.
- Other duties as assigned.
