Dunn School’s Summer Aquatics program is seeking high-caliber Aquatics Staff members who wish to make lasting positive impressions on the children and families we serve in this community. Position Summary
We are seeking a certified lifeguard with a passion for teaching to join our aquatics team. This role requires a strong swimmer who is not only vigilant in ensuring water safety but also enthusiastic about working with children and teaching learn-to-swim lessons.
Opportunities (Responsibilities)
Lifeguarding duties – Monitor pool activities, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Swim instruction – Teach fundamental swim skills to students of varying ages and abilities in a supportive and encouraging manner.
- Engagement with students – Foster a fun, safe, and positive learning environment for young swimmers.
Pool safety & maintenance – Assist in maintaining a clean and safe aquatic environment.
Core Competencies
Current Lifeguard Certification (including CPR/AED & First Aid)
Experience working with swim students in an aquatics educational environment.
- Experience and love of working with children or adolescents.
- A positive, enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Must be in town and available to work for the majority of the summer (June 9th-August 17th)
- Growth mindset, flexibility, comfort with a dynamic environment, and openness to collaboration and experimentation
A sense of humor and strong interpersonal skills
Other Requirements
- Successful completion of following:
- criminal background and driving record check (18 years and older)
- employment reference checks
- social media review
- satisfactory proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- For applicants under 18 years of age, work permit from their high school

Salary and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18 to $20 per hour. Actual pay will be dependent upon experience, qualifications, and duties.
