DESCRIPTION

Dunwoody College of Technology currently has the need for adjunct instructors within its Math & Science Department. Instructors will be responsible for delivering and maintaining curriculum in line with current industry standards and practices, advising students, developing curriculum, and building and maintaining relationships with industry. Courses are taught both online and on campus. Courses pay at a rate of $1,017 per credit.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates learning activities so that students learn the principles, theory, skills, and work ethic necessary to become proficient for entry level positions.
  • Creates a positive learning environment.
  • Monitors, assesses and advises learner on technical and academic progress and performance.
  • Uses current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction.
  • Develops and upgrades lesson material, training aids and maintains equipment within assigned course of instruction.
  • As a part of a team, designs and develops new curriculum within assigned program.
  • Provides support to faculty members.
  • Participates in industry and/or professional organizations in order to maintain and enhance program health and academic integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Foundational algebra is applied the in the context of geometry and trigonometry. Topics include rules of exponents, simplifying expressions, solving equations, computing measurements of two and three dimensional shapes, solving right triangles, and solving oblique triangles.

Course Description:

Utilize multiple methods in the calculation and application of limits, derivatives, transcendental functions, implicit differentiation and related rates.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Masters degree in Mathematics OR
  • Master's degree in a field that includes at least 18 credits worth of upper level math courses
  • 1 years post-secondary teaching experience
  • Ability to develop and implement curriculum effectively
