As a Data Governance Program Manager at Dupaco, you will be responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving the data governance program for the enterprise. Driving a data driven culture within the business, developing and implementing policies and procedures for the management of data, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and protecting sensitive data including member data. You will ensure that data is managed as a strategic asset by developing policies, standards, and processes that drive data quality, compliance, and protection while enabling the organization’s strategic objectives.
What You'll Do :
Collaborate with Leadership, including the SVP of Enterprise Data & Strategic Analytics and the Data & Analytics Steering Committee to align the data governance program with organizational goals.
Develop, monitor, and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and quality standards. Establish and track data quality metrics for continuous improvement.
Oversee the adoption of data governance tools (e.g., data catalog, data profiling, data quality). Create processes and train staff.
Bridge gaps between technical and business units, promoting data governance best practices and ensuring effective communication.
Partner with IT, Security, and Risk Management teams to ensure compliance and protect sensitive data.
Monitor compliance with data governance policies and standards, reporting performance and risk metrics to executive stakeholders.
Drive change management and communication efforts for data governance initiatives across the enterprise.
Establish and manage data domains and sub-domains, helping leaders assign proper data roles including trustees, owners, and stewards.
Create a cross-matrixed data stewardship community of practice to upskill and align business and technical data stewards.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive data catalog, including data lineage, flow mapping, and critical data elements. Implement classification and sensitivity frameworks.
Define KPIs and controls to support data quality, compliance, and data-driven decision-making.
Enhance data literacy through targeted training programs, certifications, and awareness campaigns.

What You'll Need :
Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
2 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields.
Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices, including data quality, data security, and data privacy.
Ability to develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, data quality metrics, and monitoring processes.
Experience in leading the implementation of data governance tools, such as Alation data catalog, Qlik Talend Cloud Enterprise suite, or, Microsoft Azure, a plus.
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to influence and collaborate across business units and teams.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex data governance concepts to a wide range of audiences.
Experience working with regulatory requirements for data management and governance, such as Gramm-Leach-Biley Act (GLBA), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are a plus.
Relevant certifications, such as : Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Data Governance. Professional (CDGP), or Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), are a plus.
Experience in the financial industry or credit unions is preferred.
