POSITION SUMMARY
We are pleased to offer the current job opportunity for an Office Assistant within the County's Building and Zoning Department. This position will be responsible for clerical support to the permitting process.

- Screens incoming calls and routes to the appropriate location
- Acts as a counter clerk and receptionist, receiving individuals or directing them to the proper location
- Schedule inspections, whether on the phone or in person
- Provides and interprets information regarding department policies, procedures and programs to the public
- Receives applications and forms, reviews that they are complete, and forwards on to the appropriate staff member
- Composes original form letters, prepares packets, and enters data into systems
- Receives and distributes incoming mail and responds to basic mail requests
- Answers general building and departmental questions
- Schedules the building inspections
- Handles confidential information
- Filing, typing and other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Two years of experience in general office work which required skilled typing
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work will occur in an office and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
