- Develop and implement a mission statement for the department.
- Supervise and evaluate the Assistant Athletic Director and classroom teachers.
- Provide an environment that will empower and inspire our students to build teamwork, work ethic and the commitment necessary to be successful life-long learners.
- Inspire and empower all students to have the opportunity to experience success through participation.
- Perform all duties as assigned by the principal.
The assistant principal creates and implements systems to ensure a safe, orderly, and productive environment for student and adult learning for the purpose of achieving school and district improvement targets.
- Administer and supervise the building's total interscholastic athletic program.
- Supervise the scheduling of contests and practice sessions.
- Generate data and information regarding participation levels of athletic programs and analyze data to recommend change.
- Arrange and supervise schedule with the assistant athletic director and site supervisors.
- Secure and supervise crowd control, ticket sales, medical assistance, officials, transportation, score table personnel, and other needs for home and away contests.
- Insure that supplies and equipment are ordered in accordance with established District procedures and supervise the distribution, collection, maintenance, and inventory of equipment.
- Insure that fiscal receipts and disbursements are made in accordance with established District procedures.
- Ensure compliance with IHSA and conference rules.
- Supervise preparation of insurance, health, eligibility, statistical, and other necessary records for athletes.
- Distribute and maintain detailed records of athletic awards issued by the school.
- Coordinate the supervision of all indoor and outdoor facilities, while establishing appropriate practices and procedures to safeguard the health and safety of athletes.
