JOB TITLE: Inventory control/Material Handler
STATUS: Full-Time Position – Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: 8 am – 5 pm – overtime as needed.
SUPERVISOR: Operations Manager
Summary:
The Material Handler/Assembly Associate is responsible for filling customer orders, delivering them to the delivery platform, and loading products onto trailers in a manner that meets safety and productivity standards. The Inventory Control Specialist maintains and updates materials inventory records, processes physical inventory, and ensures proper material sign-out and return.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Although these are the essential functions, the specific duties listed with each are a brief summation. Loading and Unloading: Material Handlers oversee the loading and unloading of various transport items, ensuring safe and efficient movement.
Inventory Management: They record inventory statuses, verify the accuracy of incoming deliveries, and label products appropriately.
Stock Maintenance: Material Handlers maintain an up-to-date account of stock and inventory.
Returns Handling: They process returns by completing technical documentation and other necessary communication.
Equipment Maintenance: Material Handlers ensure that all material handling equipment is well-maintained through regular inspections.
Collaboration: They work closely with internal departments to locate missing packages, rectify incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged products.
Supply Flow Management: They control the flow of supplies and equipment, ensuring efficient distribution.
Inventory Tracking: Inventory Specialists track and analyze inventory maintenance, ensuring accurate stock levels.
Loss Mitigation: They develop protocols to minimize loss and discrepancies.
Purchase Orders: Specialists create and process purchase orders.
Material Sign-Out and Return: They manage material sign-out and return processes.
Receiving Shipments: Inventory Specialists receive shipments of materials and stock inventory.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma required.
- Strongly Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience:
- Required: 23 years’ experience
- Required: Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office: including Excel and Word
- Required: prior work in a warehouse, distribution center
- Required: Valid driver’s license to drive on company’s behalf to vendor locations
- Required: Familiarity with handling materials, loading/unloading and inventory management is essential
- Proven vendor/customer service
- Strongly Preferred: Operation of overhead crane
- Experience with logistics and international experience would be strongly preferred.
- Tracking, stock, and ensuring accurate counts.
- Received shipments, and managed material signout and return,
- Fork truck experience required.
- Vendor relations maintain positive relationships.
Skills:
- Integrity in our word; saying what we will do and doing what we said by when we promised.
- Proven mechanical/technical ability.
- Able to schedule trucks for project shipments in accordance with budgets.
- Recommend and develop improved systems, policies, and procedures for the purchasing department.
- Meticulous attention to detail, clean, neat file/data management, able to multitask well and able to prioritize to complete projects on time.
- Requires hands on cleaning and maintenance along with organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with others and outside waste disposal vendor.

Working Conditions:
- Current manufacturing facility is located in Saginaw, Michigan
- Drugfree, nonsmoking environment. Pre employment Physical and Drug Screen are required.
- Using a computer for long periods of time may require sitting or standing at a station. Answering phones and talking with vendors, truck drivers is required.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, stooping, and kneeling are required for packaging, cribbing machines etc.
- Walking and standing on average for 90 % of day is required
- This position will work indoors and outside as needed and must be able to work in all types of weather/temperature conditions. Able to work in all climates and conditions in varying manufacturing environments.
