High School Academic Coach for Students *1 year only
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified teacher or eligible for certification
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Experience preferred but not required
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To support inquiry-based experiential learning as part of an interdisciplinary team in MWV Academy at Kennett High School
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide academic support for individuals and groups of students across a variety of content areas and learning formats
- Support student interactions with community partners. Provide coaching around professionalism, school and workplace expectations etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all content areas and child development
- Create an environment of respect and rapport that establishes a culture of learning
- Plan and participate in experiential learning opportunities and outdoor education experiences including team building activities
- Participate in design and implementation of inquiry-based learning activities with co-teachers and with students
- Manage classroom procedures and respond to student transgressions in a comprehensive way
- Communicate effectively with students and their families
- Collaborate with educators within the school and with community partners
- Implement 504 and IEP accommodations and modifications
- Actively participate within the professional community, growing professionally, reflecting on teaching and demonstrating professionalism
- Follow District policies and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned by the principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: One year position. In accordance with the Conway Education Association (CEA) contract
WORK YEAR: 187 day / school year position
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Conway School Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel. The principal and/or administrative designee will be the evaluator.
