DuPont is immediately hiring a Chemical Production Technician at our West Alexandria, OH site.
As a Chemical Production Technician you will perform day-to-day manufacturing activities to produce solvent-based and water-based formulated adhesives.
You will operate reactors, mixers, and other support equipment to meet the site’s goals with respect to Environmental, Health, and Safety performance, product quality, capacity, reliability of supply, and cost performance.

This position works a rotating, 12-hr shift
Your key responsibilities will be / what you’ll do :
Operating process related equipment and plant process control systems in a safe, environmentally responsible manner
Collecting and reporting plant measurements related to performance : Environmental, Health, and Safety data, quality results, asset utilization, production quantities, etc.
Participate in the determination of root causes of deviations in process, product or equipment performance through use of troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis
Identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations when appropriate
Performing daily tasks efficiently using the appropriate computer tools and software
Ensuring operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals.
Completing individual duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
Requirement :
High School Diploma / GED equivalent
Some previous manufacturing, warehouse or production experience
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word and Excel) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
In addition, successful candidate must meet the following physical qualifications, with or without accommodation :
Willing and able to lift 50-55 lbs. (example : bags of material)
Willing and able to complete work that involves repetitive motion and / or repetitive lifting
Willing and able to complete work that involves occasionally reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Willing and able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (including a respirator) when required
Willing and able to work overtime as needed
Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals)
High attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communications skills to work effectively across a diverse team
Accurately follow procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation
Perceive, identify, and respond to plant and site alarms
Assist other work groups on-site : Provide back-up Logistics support, diagnose mechanical problems and prepare equipment for maintenance (including Lockout / Tagout), painting and housekeeping, conduct routine, in-process QC testing
The following are preferred :
Associate degree or higher
Previous experience in chemical handling & formulation, manufacturing, the military, or a related environment
Experience working in a Process Safety Management (PSM)-covered or ISO- certified facility
Other technical or manufacturing certifications
Proficiency in SAP
Forklift experience
