Job Description:
The Distribution Requirements Specialist ensures the efficient execution of material movement to meet customer demands and serve as the point of contact to work with Business Supply Chains, DRP, CSR teams and Demand Team (issue resolution, procedures, SAP expertise, order adjustments).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Effectively interact with various functions – DRP, customer service, Demand Fulfillment specialist, Logistics Specialist, operations (warehouse), sales, corporate logistics, site logistics, business supply chain, external warehouse contractors, and service providers (such as DGF, BDP and carriers) to assist in resolution of issues related to shipping or port upsets, carrier and freight forwarder performance issues, order placement/paperwork issues, transportation asset availability issues, etc.
- Execute processes and manage/review/cross-check documentation required for product delivery and product transfers including import/export activities and customs clearance.
- Participate (as needed) and follow up on actions based on exceptions discussed and decisions made from Decision Centers and/or coordinate response to short term actions to adjust the material movement execution plan.
- Monitor the appropriate metrics, conduct root cause analyses, and take appropriate corrective actions to address interregional logistics issues.
- Maintains integrated relationship with Broker, Freight Forwarder and Customs and communicates any information required to prepare paperwork, etc.
- Interact with corporate customs and international trade group to coordinate import license needs and provide required documentation.
- Execute processes and manage/review/cross-check documentation required for product delivery and product transfers including import/export activities and customs clearance.
- Follow product through transportation and into warehouse when released in customs, and monitor receipt of goods.
- Serve as contact point for contract warehouse operations to escalate issues associated with warehouse performance to resolve short term exceptions and coordinate with Logistics Specialist to perform Root Cause Corrective Action analysis.
- Book space for containers with Freight Forwarders
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliation working with LSP/WHS and periodical physical count to ensure inventory accuracy. Work with related parties on inventory variance root cause investigation and put corrective action in place.
- Interact with warehouse for appropriate packaging/repackaging/labelling for meeting customer needs.
- Develop relevant training courses and provide course instruction to team.
- Develop E&I Logistics documentation including processes, procedures, job aides.
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree or above or Equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in customer service, supply chain, logistics, production planning role, SAP competency role.
- Six Sigma principles with Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or Black Belt Certification preferred
- Experienced in utilizing SAP required
- Experience using Advanced Planning Optimizer (APO), Business Warehouse (BW), PowerBI preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- APICS CPIM certification preferred
