Job Summary
We're in search of a passionate and skilled Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in our thriving office and research facilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and extensive experience in Facilities, Central Utility Plant, capital planning, Process Safety Management (PSM), and the Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance (MIQA) program. As an Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities associated with the aforementioned programs, providing strategic direction to your team and ensuring both their professional development and the successful completion of projects.
This is an onsite position.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers. Setting performance goals for team members and providing constructive feedback to support individual development and professional growth.
Lead the capital planning process. Responsible for driving and developing a strategic long term capital infrastructure plan.
Staying current with industry trends, utilizing emerging technologies, and continuously improving engineering processes and practices to ensure our team is at the forefront of the field and achieving the best possible results.
Oversee the ongoing improvement, analysis, and presentation of monthly metrics to enhance operational effectiveness.
Promote compliance within the Engineering group with all pertinent regulations and safety standards.
Accountable for the sustainability improvements and the reduction of the site carbon footprint. Must possess a deep understanding of sustainability principles and possess a track record of delivering measurable results. Must also possess a creative mindset and the ability to inspire, and motivate others in developing innovative solutions to help our company meet its sustainability targets.
Management Sponsor of the FS&RE Electrical Safety Team
Oversee and provide strategic guidance for the site Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance(MIQA). Must provide effective oversight of our processes to ensure the highest standards of quality and integrity are achieved and maintained at all times.
Education & Experience
Required :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
10 years of relevant work experience is required.
Must possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to management personnel and non-technical stakeholders.
Must be proficient in using presentation software to create engaging and informative presentations, as well as possess a talent for simplifying complex concepts.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data to identify potential opportunities and implement essential changes. This necessitates strong creative problem-solving skills and a profound understanding of the company’s mission and vision. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be capable of leading the team towards achieving these objectives through effective collaboration, clear communication, and strategic delegation.
Leadership skills to inspire, empower, guide, motivate and mentor team members.
Time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
Proficient in a range of supportive systems, including SAP, Six Sigma, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint, among others with a demonstrated ability to leverage these tools to drive operational and business effectiveness, streamlining processes, and managing large datasets.
Strong interpersonal relationship skills, influence and negotiating skills, and capable to work effectively in a team environment with people at all jobs levels that are culturally diverse.
Basic knowledge of equipment function and building systems and their impact on the research operations.
Preferred :
Master’s degree in engineering or MBA
Strong leadership and people management skills, with at least five years of experience managing a global team.
Demonstrated ability in driving improvements in reliability, mechanical integrity and quality assurance.
Knowledge of PSM and high hazard processes.
