DuPont Safety & Construction is recruiting for a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Coordinator based at our Spruance site in Richmond, VA! The Spruance Plant is home to 5 businesses: Kevlar®, Mylar®, Nomex®, Tyvek®& and Zytel® and is currently DuPont's largest manufacturing site. Safety & Construction is a leading provider of engineered products and integrated systems for the construction, worker safety, energy, oil & gas, transportation, water purification and medical markets.
The MES Coordinator is focused on the frontline support and improvement of the MES system(s) to ensure reliable performance and implementation of new capabilities. S/he has two main areas of responsibility: First, supporting the user with training, troubleshooting, workflows, reports and system maintenance and updates. Second, s/he collaborates with IT and vendors and coordinate project assignments related to configuration, improvements, implementation, testing and support. The MES Coordinator also helps manufacturing decision makers understand how current conditions on the plant floor can be optimized to improve production output.
As an MES Coordinator, you will:
- Work and collaborate with users, engineering, and support teams to set up and maintain workflows
- Work and collaborate with Production Data Analyst to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Train new and existing users
- Partner with IT to ensure system configuration and uptime
- Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics
- Collaborate with users, engineering, IT, and MES vendor on improving operational performance
- Guide users in defining requirements for added features, problem resolution and proper application utilization
- Develop and implement process improvements by actively participating on cross functional teams
- Identify opportunities to optimize and integrate isolated systems and/or automate existing processes for efficiency
- Be a part of short- and long-term projects to implement process improvements and efficiencies
- Work with MES vendor on updates, upgrades and new tool configuration where applicable
- Perform testing to ensure developmental needs meet functional requirements
- Formulate and maintain MES procedures and documentation
- Stay abreast of current information and developments concerning MES
Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required; 2-year Technical or Trade School degree is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is required
- A minimum of 3 years’ volume Industrial Manufacturing/ Chemical operations or military equivalent experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with database reporting tools including SQL would be a distinct advantage
- Experience in configuration management or data management roles as a system administrator for ERP (ie SAP), MRP or MES systems is desirable
- Experience defining business requirements
- Project experience is a plus
- Previous or Current experience within (Kevlar®/Tyvek®/Nomex®) lines of business is preferred.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and process improvement skills
- Exceptional organizational, project management, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; and basic IT related skillsets
- This role is located in Spruance-Richmond, VA and may require less than 5% of travel
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States; No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
