The MT role located at the Nogales, Arizona site has primary responsibilities supporting and improving existing HSL manufacturing operations as well as playing a key role in bringing changes and new products to the site.
This position is a part of DuPont's Field Engineering Rotational Development Program. As a participant in the program, you will undergo a series of immersive 2-to-3-year assignments in Operations & Engineering and Science & Innovation, which will take place across different locations and functions within the company's various businesses. These assignments will be combined with formal education, as well as opportunities for networking, mentoring, and exposure to leadership roles.
Detailed Responsibilities :
Maintain appropriate documentation, including process flow diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies. Act as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drive implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.
Provides communication regarding project aspects, plans, unusual problems, and progress.
Ensure process is effectively utilized to optimize plant performance. Evaluate, propose and implement performance improvements relating to efficiency gains, downtime reduction, capacity release and cost savings.
Partner with the experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve operating discipline. Assist with and / or lead root cause analysis of asset utilization losses in the facility.
Team member on new product commercialization framework (NPCF) projects representing manufacturing during early phases thru commercialization; plays a lead role in defining and implement manufacturing process(es) to achieve project goals working closely across functions. Ensures a safe and efficient process is handed over to the operations team.
Lead and / or be a technical reviewer for manufacturing process changes; initiator of management of change (MOC) work process. Engineering technical resource for trial and scaleup work to achieve project goals.
Lead technology plans and basic data development for capital projects. Lead startup efforts for capital projects, following DuPont project process and best practices.
Provide support and participation in safety, quality and environmental activities, e.g. pre-startup safety reviews, process hazard analysis, incident investigations, safety meetings, internal / external audits, etc.
This position reports to the HSL Manufacturing Technology Manager and receives local oversight, training, and guidance from Nogales Site and Area Leadership.
Limited travel (
The position is primarily based on site.
Job Qualifications
Required :
Bachelors degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or other engineering background
Minimum 6 months relevant manufacturing work experience (including internships and co-ops)
3.0 GPA or higher
Must be fluent in both spoken and written English and Spanish, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues in both languages
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Driven to move projects and initiatives forward
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong team player with an ability to work independently and also closely with cross functional teams
Experience with extrusion / tubing manufacturing processes preferred
geographic flexibility to allow for the best career development fit
Willingness to relocate to a new location every 2 to 3 years
Five-year commitment to complete a minimum of two assignments (usually 24-36 months per assignment)
Willingness to be on-call for plant area support when required
Legal right to work in the United States without any employment restrictions
