We are seeking a motivated and experienced Quality Control (QC) Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that our Quality Control Laboratory meets the highest quality standards, while also continuously improving our processes. The Quality Control Specialist will report to the Slurry Unit Manager.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate and execute continuous improvement projects in QC laboratory around business and plant goals (EH&S, Quality, Production, and Cost)
- Lead trouble shooting of general laboratory equipment, analyses and methodologies with assistance of lab techs and develop corrective actions, solutions, and improvements
- Serve as on-call resource for off-shift support
- Utilize understanding of broad metrology technology, equipment and control technology to maintain laboratory equipment
- Drive lean principals in QC laboratory, including leading Kaizen events
- Design, implement and validate robust analytical methodologies, ensuring adherence to best practices
- Design and implement quality control processes and procedures to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the QC Laboratory
- Lead root cause analysis efforts for quality defects and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring that analytical activities align with strategic objectives
- Conduct chemical and physical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and final products using a variety of techniques and instruments
- Identify and investigate any deviations from normal results through advanced SPC program and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Collaborate with Tech Team to continuously refine process control and drive variation reduction efforts in QC laboratory.
- Develop and maintain quality control documentation and records, including appropriate document revisions
- Train QC Lab technicians on various lab techniques and procedures as needed
- Network with labs on site and within the business to leverage experience and knowledge
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other departments such as production, research and development, and quality assurance to identify and resolve quality issues
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry or related sciences is required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in laboratory setting, preferably in manufacturing environment
- Previous analytical laboratory experience and/or technical training in analytical chemistry
- Demonstrated competence and experience with a wide range of analytical equipment and techniques
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Knowledge of quality control principles, laboratory testing techniques, and analytical instrumentation
- Expertise in method development and validation
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously is needed

- Please note - The hiring location for this position is DuPont Corporate headquarters, Chestnut Run Plaza office in Wilmington, Delaware. This is a hybrid position (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Relocation will not be provided for this position.
- Be the Leader in Supplier Relations: Act as the main communication hub for our suppliers, ensuring collaboration and alignment on initiatives that matter.
- Become a Market Insights Expert: Dive deep into supply market facts and trends to extract valuable insights that will guide our sourcing strategies.

- 5-10 years of proven experience in procurement, with a flair for sourcing excellence.
- A Project Management certification is a major plus!
- Six sigma experience is a plus
- CPSM certification is a plus
- A passion for sourcing with a strong grasp of buying categories and supplier management.
