The Work Activity Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities for DuPont and Contractor (preventative maintenance, maintenance repair, change of designs, and projects) are completed in a safe (Site Policies and Procedures / S39G) and efficient manner within their respective areas.
The Work Activity Coordinator role will assign daily duties to DuPont maintenance personnel and oversee all contractor activities for safety, quality, cost and performance. The WAC will work closely with the area Activity Coordinators, DuPont Maintenance team, and DuPont Contract Administration Group.
Provide daily direction and oversight to DuPont direct and embedded Crafts (Instrument Technicians, Millwrights, Pipe Fitters & Electricians)
Manage daily DuPont Maintenance work in respective area, which include; safety audits, daily status (% complete), manpower adjustments if necessary, productivity / performance, when appropriate, spot audits of completed work to verify that job is complete and housekeeping is acceptable, and notification to Maintenance Coordinator of job status and completion.
Assign daily jobs / issue job plan books, per site schedule, and review job plans as needed with DuPont maintenance (direct and embedded) personnel at the beginning of each shift.
Work with plant Activity Coordinators to ensure work permits are issued in a timely manner for crafts to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Review all safety incidents for awareness and talk through any abnormal work activities.
Be the primary contact for Dupont maintenance needs and manage allocation of Craft resources for leveraging / work reallocation when needed.
If / When emergent work arises, determine if work requested meets the emergency work definition. Follow up with area Activity Coordinator if it is not an emergency so that it can be reclassified in SAP for future scheduling.
If / When emergent work arises, coordinate staffing to meet area needs and communicate with Site Scheduler and area Activity Coordinators for any necessary adjustments / impact to maintenance or operations schedule.
Coach Dupont Direct and embedded Crafts if work and / or documentation (Job Book- and job-related paperwork) is not completed in a satisfactory manner. If unsatisfactory behavior continues, escalate situation to DuPont Maintenance Resource Leader for proper administrative resolution.
Responsible for maintenance shop upkeep (housekeeping, consumable inventory stocked, etc)
Drive continuous improvement efforts with DuPont maintenance and reliability resources.
Individual will spend approximately 50%-75% of their time in office / meeting environment and 25%-50% or their time in the field (operations area). Role will be required to be familiar with all site procedures, area procedures, and general knowledge of process safety requirements in respective areas.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements :
High School diploma with craft / trade or technical expertise
3-5 years of manufacturing or related experience
Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process / Low Hazard Operation) experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams (both DuPont and Contractor)
Effective oral and written communication skills, the ability to present information to all levels in the organization and address external organizations
