Job Summary
With minimal supervision and an understanding of landscape, hardscape, irrigation and estimating, the Maintenance Account Manager manages client relationships to ensure account retention and achievement of profitability objectives for HOA, commercial, and municipal accounts. Acts as the primary interface between the client and the company maintenance and support teams. Oversees and directs landscape maintenance service and enhancement activities while maintaining the company’s commitment to ethical business practices and quality services.
Essential Functions Include:
- Ensures client retention by managing the performance of the team.
- Acts as the primary contact and trusted advisor of community manager and board members.
- Regularly communicates status of maintenance accounts, maintenance activities, budget and sales, and remediation plans to produce reports as appropriate.
- Regularly asses’ properties to identify opportunities for enhancements.
- Conducts routine walk-throughs to assess quality of service and contracts.
- Regularly meets with crew leads to stay current on maintenance service projects, water management programs, irrigation billable goals, job costing accuracy, equipment maintenance, and upkeep of potential issues.
- Builds and maintains annual budgets, delivers proposals, manages labor costs, and processes billing.
- Upholds the organization’s commitment to safety by reinforcing safety practices.
Required and Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A solid knowledge of irrigation, construction and landscape as normally obtained through an associate degree in horticulture, construction management or commensurate experience.
- A minimum of one year experience successfully managing a < $1M book of business in landscape maintenance or a closely related field.
- At least one year’s proven experience managing supervisors is required.
- Experience successfully overseeing multiple crews that service varied, and multiple properties is also required.
- A valid driver’s license and insurability through the Company’s auto insurance policy is required.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are required.
- The ability to focus and maintain an attention to detail to assess properties is required.
- The ability to work independently, drive oneself to complete tasks and implement strategies is required.
- A general awareness of trends and developments in the hardscape and landscaping industry is preferred.
- Professional landscape certifications preferred.
Travel
Frequent and daily local travel to visit job sites and clients is required. This may include travel within a 150-mile radius of the respective Company office.
Work environment, Conditions and Demands
Work is performed in an office environment and at job sites. Job requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to the elements.
