Description

The Department of Counselor Education and School Psychology in Duquesne University's School of Education invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, open rank position in Counselor Education. Salary and terms of appointment are commensurate with experience and include a 12-month salary, vacation, and benefits package.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the position is face-to-face teaching in our Master’s and PhD-level counseling programs; additional responsibilities may include student advisement, dissertation service, research, oversight and supervision of graduate practicum and internship experiences, and program development, among other duties.

As a condition of employment, Duquesne University requires all new employees —full-time and part-time, including adjunct faculty—to get a COVID-19 vaccine and provide proof of their vaccination upon commencement of employment.

New employees requesting a religious or documented medical exemption from the vaccine must complete and submit a Duquesne University exemption request form for review and approval. To receive the appropriate exemption request form, contact hrservices@duq.edu. Employees with approved exemptions will be required to be tested on a regular basis.

Qualifications

Candidates with experience teaching in a CACREP-accredited program who hold licensure as a professional counselor (LPC) or are certified as a school counselor, have three years of experience as a professional counselor in relevant community settings or as a school counselor, have a strong professional identity as a counselor, and have an earned doctorate in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program by the start of the appointment are strongly preferred (ABD applications will be considered).
