Temporary Administrative Assistant – Institute for Ethics and Integrity in Journalism and Media Salary: $21.00/hour POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general
direction of the Institute Director, the temporary part-time Administrative
Assistant will undertake a wide range of business and administrative tasks that
may require considerable independence, judgement and discretion. Individual
must be detail-oriented, focused and hard-working. The position will involve scheduling and
programming, marketing and promotion, website updates, budget oversight for
travel, honoraria, and specialized event planning. DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Keystone
News Summit Arrange meetings with key partners and take minutes
of all meetings involving summit partners, including the general meeting and
meetings of the various committees Keep track of to-do items and outstanding
tasks along with names of people required to complete those tasks Collaborate with graphics/website and event
planning team at Temple Assist with registration – outgoing and
incoming Assist with event program materials Attend summit event to assist with day-of
needs Keep track of contacts and send “save the
date” notices regarding summit Coordinate with marketing communications teams
to promote summit, including alumni relations, department of marketing and
communications, and College marketing communications manager Write short descriptions of summit Help coordinate travel and expenses for summit
speakers Assistance to director and managing fellow Assist director and managing fellow regarding
correspondence and record keeping Assist director and managing fellow to arrange
for professional speakers, including any travel requirements Assist director and managing fellow to
schedule and manage outstanding tasks Monitor Institute email account Notify director and/or managing fellow
regarding any incoming email needing attention Assist director and managing fellow in the
marketing and implementation of public programs Updates to web pages and social media Regularly update Institute web pages as
circumstances dictate Provide updates to summit website (www.keystonenewssummit.org) through Temple
graphic artist Assist IEIJM Grad Assistant in regularly
posting Institute news and/or short videos to the Institute’s social media
sites, particularly during summer months Search for and submit posts about news
industry stories to the Institute’s social media sites Maintain schedules and minutes for several
groups Advisory council Coordinate with advisory council members to
arrange best time/dates for meetings Send reminder notices for upcoming meetings a
week before, two days before and a day before each meeting Take minutes during meetings Fellows meetings Coordinate schedules of director, managing
fellow and professional fellow for monthly meetings Take minutes of meetings and submit to members
within a day of the meeting Support Visiting media scholar Help coordinate scholar’s schedule and any
needs the scholar has for virtual teaching Act as liaison between scholar and students,
if requested Act as informational liaison between scholar
and media department, as needed Help onboard scholar with human resources
department Completes other
duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications: Associate’s degree from an accredited institution and 1-3 years of work-
related experience. Preferred qualifications: BA or BS – Business Administration, Marketing, and/or Media Technology from an
accredited institution. More than 3 years of related work
experience with prior experience in higher education is preferred. It is preferred that any applicant
have specific professional or academic experience with media design and the
disciplines therein. Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of
experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities
required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not
limited to, the following: Associate’s
degree or higher is required. Working knowledge of Word and Excel and
experience with basic budgeting and accounting is required. Strong grammar and communication skills are
required. Ability to balance multiple tasks is required. Ability to work independently, exercise
discretion and handle confidential matters is required. Professional attitude required. Requires sensitivity to the need of
each individual to be treated with dignity and respect as it relates to
