Job Summary
The R&D Assistant is responsible for building cabinets and cabinet accessory prototypes, researching new machining methods and assembly processes. Must have cabinetry experience to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Builds cabinets and cabinet accessory prototypes.
- Tests materials, hardware and new products.
- Uses a variety of wood working equipment including, saws, router, shapers, presses, milling machines, etc.
- Researches new machining methods and assembly processes.
- Develops concepts for building jigs including jig construction.
- Analyzes manufacturing operations for designing jigs and fixtures not requiring formal engineering.
- Conducts training for new products and procedures to employees.
- Consults with R&D Technicians and/or production personnel about machining, material and assembly problems.
- Participates and contributes to a Work Team environment and follows Quality Control checks.
This position works with production Monday - Friday 6am - 4:30pm
Starting Range: $21.00 - 23.00 per hour
Full benefits, Bonus Pay and Paid Overtime.
Requirements
Required Education, Training or Experience
- High School education or up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years vocational education specializing in cabinetry and machine processes is preferred but not required.
- Must be self-sufficient and able to take direct initiate in projects.
- 5 years cabinetry experience involving layout, construction, and installation.
- Advanced work experience with wood materials, tooling, and wood working equipment.
