Job Title: Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Summary:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of production equipment and the facility during the second shift. This includes troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery, as well as performing preventive maintenance and facility upkeep. The Maintenance Technician will work independently and as part of a team to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.

Sunday-Friday (Half day)

2nd Shift 3:30pm-12 pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment according to schedules.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems and prevent breakdowns.
  • Repair and replace defective parts, components, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel, production staff, and supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with various types of machinery and equipment, including but not limited to:
  • Conveyors
  • Pumps
  • Motors
  • Gearboxes
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Electrical systems (basic knowledge)
  • Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work second shift hours and overtime as needed.
  • Understand electrical schematics and troubleshooting
  • Understand and use lockout tagout
  • Have a general understanding of PLCs and VFDs
  • Basic understanding of Hydraulic and Mechanical systems
  • Willingness to work around potentially hazardous chemicals (full PPE provided)
  • General knowledge of plumbing and heating systems
  • General knowledge of robotics is a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including noise, dust, and temperature variations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
