Job Title: Prep & Weld Technician (HC)

Summary:

Hours: 7 AM-3:30 PM

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Prep and Weld Technician specializing in hard chrome plating processes. This position is responsible for preparing parts for hard chrome plating, performing necessary welding repairs, and ensuring the quality and integrity of the finished product. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metal preparation techniques, welding processes (specifically related to hard chrome applications), and quality control procedures. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, adhering to strict safety guidelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare parts for hard chrome plating, including cleaning, masking, and any necessary pre-machining or surface finishing.
• Perform welding repairs on parts as needed, utilizing appropriate welding techniques and filler metals compatible with hard chrome plating.
• Inspect parts before and after plating to ensure quality and identify any defects.
• Operate and maintain plating equipment, including rectifiers, tanks, and related control systems.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including part numbers, process parameters, and inspection results.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies related to hard chrome plating and welding operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the plating and welding processes.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Prep and Weld Technician, specifically in hard chrome plating.
• Strong understanding of metal preparation techniques for hard chrome plating.
• Proficient in various welding processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of hard chrome plating processes and equipment.
• Experience with quality control and inspection procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot process issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in welding and plating a plus.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with specific hard chrome plating solutions and applications.
