This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in 3-phase low voltage AC motor controls, AC/DC control systems, and industrial automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on proficiency in designing and building control panels and troubleshooting with the service team.
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in leading and growing a team of electrical technicians, panel builders, and assembly personnel. Your responsibilities will include electrical system design, PLC programming, VFD setup, HMI development, and technical support. You will also collaborate closely with sales and field service teams to ensure the seamless integration and performance of our systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development: Manage and mentor a team of electrical technicians and engineers, fostering growth and skill development.
- Electrical System Design: Develop automated control systems for agricultural equipment, including sorting, conveying, dumping, washing, and drying systems.
- Electrical Schematics: Design and review electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent software.
- PLC Programming: Design and develop PLC software using IEC 61131 programming standards.
- VFD Setup & Commissioning: Configure, tune, and commission Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) over field bus networks.
- HMI/Operator Interface Development: Design and implement Human-Machine Interface (HMI) solutions to enhance usability and efficiency.
- Technical & Sales Support: Provide cost estimates and quotations to sales staff for electrical assemblies. Offer remote and on-site technical support for AC/DC controls, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial networking.
- Project & Field Support: Oversee electrical system installations, modifications, and commissioning at customer sites. Work closely with field service teams to ensure smooth implementation and troubleshooting.

Essential Functions
- Design, implement, and manage electrical system installations and upgrades.
- Assemble, install, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, switches, sensors, and motors.
- Ensure compliance with NEC and local electrical codes.
- Program, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical drives and control units, including PLC motor controls.
- Continuously seek opportunities for performance and efficiency improvements.
- Support sales, field service, and customer support teams with technical expertise.
- Organize and maintain project documentation and electrical schematics.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support for installations and troubleshooting.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of electrical engineering experience (or equivalent education/experience).
- Strong knowledge of 3-phase and low voltage circuits and controls.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and industrial automation software.
- Experience with PLC programming, VFD setup, HMI development, and industrial networking.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, machine prints, and plant layouts.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and meet tight deadlines.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% and relocate to LaGrange, GA 30241 before starting work.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
