Position : Maintenance Mechanic

Type : Full-Time

Schedule : Monday–Thursday, 6 : 00 AM–4 : 30 PM (occasional overtime on Fridays)

Compensation : $23.00–$25.00 / hour (depending on experience) Full Benefits Package

Location : Jamestown, ND

Job Summary :

The Maintenance Mechanic oversees the performance and maintenance of the facilities, machinery, and mechanical equipment.

Duties / Responsibilities :

Performs routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on facilities, building systems, mechanical equipment, industrial equipment, and machinery.
Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
Consults blueprints, equipment manuals or building plans to identify the best solution to resolve systems or equipment issues.
Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training.
Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities including snow removal, lot grading, maintaining drainage, mowing, spraying, etc.
Performs routine fire extinguisher inspections.
Performs forklift training for new employees.
Monitors, orders, and restocks supplies and materials needed for manufacturing, repairs, and maintenance.
Oversees the handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities :

Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.

Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to read blueprints, building plans, safety rules, and repair manuals.

Ability to follow instructions.

Works well independently and with others.

Education / Experience :

Valid driver’s license and insurable.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience preferred.

Knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes, and specifications preferred.

Related experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements :

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.

Must be able to see details at close range.

Must be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Must be able to navigate facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, bending, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.

Wear and work in personnel protective equipment.

Work Environment :

Exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Noise level is moderate to loud.

Frequently exposed to airborne particles.

Exposure to heat / humidity during summer months.
