This Role:
Our collaborative fulfillment team is currently seeking a Logistics Analyst. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Grand Rapids that would report directly to our Corporate Transportation Manager and will likely require some domestic travel, estimated at 10%.
What You Will Do:
The Logistics Analyst will oversee and participate in all aspects of carrier routings, ensuring the timely flow of raw materials from suppliers to plants, as well as finished goods from plants and distribution centers to customers.
This position will be responsible for the support in execution of an optimized outsourced and insourced truckload, LTL and parcel solution, with a focus on managing cost, leveraging the capabilities of TMS and WMS platforms, and providing superior service to our customers.
How You Will Do It:
- Evaluate and decipher supply chain data to spot recurring patterns and opportunities for enhancement.
- Collaborate with Lead Transportation Planner in supporting Oracle OTM and SAP ShipERP TMS platforms.
- Partner with plant and distribution facilities in daily transportation planning activities to support cost and service initiatives.
- Support the distribution center and plant teams regarding daily shipment and carrier issues.
- Assess and analyze the performance of logistics suppliers, providing effective feedback to improve service and cost expectations.
- Pinpoint and rectify operational issues with carriers, distribution centers, plants, and vendor locations to include inefficiencies in the supply chain.
- Assist in training internal personnel on software and logistics processes.
- Monitor and analyze transportation and distribution performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and support implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain monthly freight and distribution reporting package.
- Identify, lead, and participate in project work as required.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Current/valid U.S. work authorization without requiring future sponsorship
- Several years progressive experience in distribution, transportation planning, analytics, and data optimization
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, or related field
- Logistics project engagement with documented cost and service improvement
- Knowledge and utilization of DOT rules and regulations
- Previous Oracle OTM and SAP ShipERP TMS experience
