This Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This Senior level role is responsible for performing complex financial analysis, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls, with the ability to work independently and provide guidance to other accountants.
How You Will Do It
- General Ledger & Account Reconciliation: Perform advanced reconciliations of accounts to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies. Work closely with plant controllers on inventory provisions and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Process owner for Intercompany Transactions: Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and ensure proper elimination entries for consolidated financial statements. Ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies and international accounting standards, if applicable.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Process journal entries, accruals, and financial adjustments.
- Variance Analysis: Provide financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist with internal controls, and internal and external audit requests.
- Process Improvement: Identify improvements to accounting procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaboration & Support: Provide technical accounting guidance to junior accountants and work closely with other departments to support financial decision-making.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of GAAP, in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment
This is a hybrid that would require occasional trips to collaborate with the team at our Kentwood, MI office space.
