SBNA is starting a new ‘Technical Leadership Program’ for individuals who want to pursue a career using ‘hands-on’ skills in the areas such as CAD design, CNC programming & machining, Manual machining, fitting & assembly, hydraulics & pneumatics, electrical circuitry design, and thermoset material molding.
Duties/Responsibilities: To support the business development lab with various activities:
- Work with Engineering team to develop CAD models for new applications- create drawings & sections as required
- Develop baseline 3D models for Moldflow predictive analysis- run analysis and make tooling design recommendations
- Take measurements using the CAD files and use to create tool paths using CAM- upload and/or post CAM programs to CNC machines
- Set up and operate CNC machines to run piece work and also operate manual machines such as but not limited to, Bridgeports, Lathes, and Surface Grinders
- Setup prototype tooling to match design intent- evaluate fit of customer parts vs CAD model
- Setup and operate Transfer Molding machine to make preforms, run test parts, flow test incoming material- write technical report summarizing results of molding trials
Education/Experience Guidelines:
- 0 to 3 years of CNC machine operation
- Basic understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM
- Some knowledge of thermoset/thermoplastic molding process is preferred
- Must be detail oriented and mechanically inclined
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
